What we do at Susterra Partners...

All energy used in a building (electricity, gas, heaven forbid heating oil!, etc) can be converted into kilowatt hours (kwh) or BtU's for those more familiar with British Thermal Units.  So, how many kwh does your building use per square meter per annum??  Not many people know that at the initial stages of a building design!  Owners typically find out how much they are wasting money after they start getting their utility bills.

But, this is so important because kwh/m2a = costs!  So, don’t you want to know how much it will cost you to operate your building before you approve you final design?? I certainly would!

Our primary objective is to help save money for the Owner and Investor.  Green buildings are NOT more expensive.  We help design energy efficiency into buildings without increasing construction budgets to help save money.  We help save money by saving energy and, in this way, we all can help each other help save our planet from unnecessary carbon emissions and climate change!

Susterra’s unique approach is to help design buildings that use 30-50% less energy (that’s 30-50% less utility costs!) … and, do that at the same construction budget of conventional buildings!   We want to break the notion that GREEN buildings are more expensive.  Of course, green buildings can be much more expensive than conventional buildings.  What Susterra sets out to do is to prove they need not be more expensive …  saving costs of owning and operating the building by reducing 30-50% energy usage, having superior indoor air quality (IAQ), preserving natural resources like water …. and build it at the SAME COST of a conventional building!

Susterra Partners, together with its collaboration partners, is taking up this challenge, as we speak!
